# Conversations and modes

Quick answers for questions and drafts, agent mode for work. One thread for one goal.

## Quick answer or agent

Quick answers are for questions, writing and drafts: an explanation, a summary or a first version of a text. Agent mode is for work the agent should carry out: going through websites, processing files, filling in a form or preparing a document. If you are unsure, ask a quick question first and hand the work to the agent once you know what you want.

## One thread for one goal

A conversation keeps the requests, answers and continuity of a task together. Continue in the same thread when you revise the same document or research. Start a new thread for unrelated work and name it after the result you will look for later.

## While the work runs

The progress shows what the agent is working on. When it asks for more information or a confirmation, answer in the same thread. State changes to the request explicitly. Before repeating the whole request, check whether the earlier run already did something, especially when sending messages or creating items on a website.

Example request

> Summarize what is done, what is still unfinished and whether anything changed outside this conversation. Do not make further changes yet.

## What does not carry over by itself

A new conversation may not know the attachments or details of an earlier one. Give it the material it needs or a summary. Keep work that belongs together in the same planet: a planet has its own context, files and conversations. Put unrelated work in another planet.
