# Tasks and schedules

Work that runs at a set time, even while your device is off.

## A workflow and a schedule are different

A workflow says what should happen; a schedule decides when it runs. Tasks and schedules run in the cloud, so they keep going while your laptop or phone is off. Scheduled tasks come with the Plus, Pro and Max plans; the Free plan does not include them. Saying 'every morning' in a chat does not create a schedule by itself.

## Setting up a recurring task

1. Try the task by hand with the same request and sign-ins the schedule will need.
2. Create the schedule, name it and give complete instructions, not just a reference to an earlier conversation.
3. Choose the frequency, time and timezone, and check the date of the next run.
4. After the first run, open the result and check its content, not just that the schedule exists.

## Example: a weekly task

A recurring task that runs without you needs clear boundaries: what it may do, where to save the result and what to do when something is missing.

Example request

> Every Monday at 07:00 Europe/Prague time, prepare a summary of \[source\] for the past week. Read and summarize only; do not send or delete anything. If access is missing, record the blocker and stop. Before creating the schedule, confirm the exact request, the time and where you will save the result.

## Pause, resume and remove

You can pause a schedule, switch it on again or remove it when you no longer need it. Turning off future runs may not stop a task that has already started or undo changes on another website. When a sign-in changes or runs keep failing, pause the schedule and resume it once you have checked the access and the rules.

## A schedule is not proof of success

Check the task's state and the finished result. A task can be waiting for more information or end with an error described in the latest result. A changed sign-in or target website can interrupt a run, and so can an exhausted plan limit.
