How it works

# You hand over the work. The agent does it.

Steerbay gives your agent a real computer, a browser, files and schedules. Here is how it all works: from your first request to work that runs on its own.

Browser

## The agent uses a browser. The way you do.

It does website tasks in a managed browser in the cloud. It opens pages, clicks, types, signs in, fills in forms and downloads files. The work continues when you close your laptop.

- Opens a page
- Clicks
- Types
- Signs in
- Fills in a form
- Downloads a file

- **You watch**: You follow the work in a live view. The progress in the conversation shows what the agent is on.
- **You step in**: When the agent asks a question or needs a confirmation, you answer in the same thread. You can refine the request at any time.
- **You sign in**: You enter the password on the service’s own page in the agent’s browser, never in the chat. Sign-ins from your own browser do not carry over.

> Do not send messages, buy or submit orders without the person’s explicit approval.

Computers

## The work happens on a real computer.

A model on its own only answers. An agent needs a computer where it can actually do the job, and come back with the result.

### In the cloud

Keeps going without you.

The agent gets a real computer in the cloud. It works in a browser there, runs and tests new things and keeps files. It keeps going while your device is off.

### On your computer

When the work belongs on your side.

Then you connect the agent to your own computer and it does the job there. Handing over the work and reviewing the result stay the same.

How much cloud computer time you get, and whether you also have a dedicated cloud computer that keeps its setup and work in progress, depends on your plan. [Compare plans](https://www.steerbay.com/en/pricing/)

Model and environment

## The model brings the intelligence. Steerbay gives it a place to work.

The model reads the request and decides the next steps. The browser, files, tasks and schedules make up the environment it works in. Change the model and your files, conversations and sign-ins stay as they are.

### Quick answer

“How should I compare these suppliers?”

You get an approach. You still gather the information and compare it yourself. Right for questions, explanations and first drafts.

### Agent

“Compare these suppliers and prepare a shortlist.”

The agent goes through the offers, organizes the findings and brings back a result to review. Right for work that needs doing.

### Which model does the work

- **Steerbay AI with Claude**: On every plan the agents work with Steerbay AI: Claude models by Anthropic. You do not need to connect an account of your own.
- **Your ChatGPT**: If you have a ChatGPT subscription, you can connect it on any plan, Free included. The agents then work through your account.
- **Models by plan**: Free: Claude Sonnet 5.5. Plus adds Luna 6 and Sol 6.1. Pro and Max add Claude Opus 5.5 and Astra 6.

Schedules, calendar and to-dos

## Work that runs on schedule.

A workflow says what should happen; a schedule decides when. The calendar and the to-do list keep both in sight.

- **Schedules**: Schedule a task for a set time or a regular repeat in your timezone. It runs in the cloud while your device is off. You can pause a schedule, switch it on again or remove it. Scheduled tasks come with Plus, Pro and Max.
- **Calendar**: The app’s calendar shows your events and, beside them, when your scheduled tasks will run. Connections to Google Calendar and Outlook are in preparation.
- **To-do list**: Write your tasks into lists, or bring them over from Notion. Hand any of them to the agent and it opens a conversation for it and gets to work.

Planets and devices

## Every job in its place.

### Planets

A client, a project, a company, your household.

A planet is a separate workspace with its own context, files and conversations. What you put into it stays there, so projects never mix.

### Devices

Start at your desk, check on the way.

On a computer, phone or tablet with the same account, you see the same conversations, files, tasks and schedules. The agent keeps working meanwhile.

Files

## Material in, results out.

- **Material**: Attach the file to the conversation and say what the agent should read or change in it. For spreadsheets, explain the columns, currency, period and whether amounts include VAT.
- **Result**: Say what kind of result you want: a summary in the chat, an editable document, a spreadsheet or a presentation. Ask for a file with a download link and a new name, so the original stays as it was.
- **With the work**: Files stay with the work in the app, so you can open them on any device with the same account.
- **Only what’s needed**: Share only material you are authorized to use and the task needs. Check the result against the original before you use it.

Step by step

## From a first task to work that runs itself.

1. **One task**
Start with a task you can check: one input, one output and a point where you decide. Leave payments and bulk changes for later.
   [Quickstart and your first task](https://www.steerbay.com/en/docs/getting-started/#first-task)
2. **A clear request**
Describe the result, what it should be based on and what the agent must not do. When you are unsure, ask a quick question first.
   [Writing good requests](https://www.steerbay.com/en/docs/requests/)
3. **Review**
Check that every detail has a source, missing items are flagged and the file opens. Send a specific correction in the same thread.
   [Quickstart and your first task](https://www.steerbay.com/en/docs/getting-started/#review)
4. **A reusable workflow**
When the result is right, write the process down: inputs, rules, exceptions and the shape of the result. Try it on another case.
   [Reusable workflows](https://www.steerbay.com/en/docs/workflows/)
5. **A schedule**
Put the workflow on a schedule. After the first run, open the result and check its content, not just that the schedule exists.
